Marching Towards a Community of Empowered Voices
A Recap of the Unleash Your Voice Tour, March 2025

It has been a remarkable month of vocal discovery at Unleash Your Voice. Deirdre’s first month in India, covering two states—Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu—brought her together with enthusiastic groups of singers and speakers eager to enhance their technical knowledge of effective voice usage.

The journey to excellence began with initial workshops for adults at The Club in Mumbai, focusing on vocal technique. One participant described Deirdre as an ‘engaged teacher,’ committed to each student’s performance, resulting in immediate improvements in delivery after they received feedback.

In addition to individual singers, music education institutions like Furtados Music School hosted her for an intensive workshop aimed at training their teachers.

The corporate entity JSW Realty also tapped into her vocal expertise, training its team on techniques for delivering powerful presentations. Following this serious training session, participants enjoyed lighter moments as they listened to each other’s Presentations.

The next leg of the tour took her to Pune, where the Rahel O Veena Music Academy hosted an interactive session with singers on Day 1, and on Day 2 Deirdre worked with the choral group Cantabile tightening up their technique and choral skills. Singers of the Rahel O Music Academy and members of the Cantabelle Choir left feeling more confident about their voices and gained several valuable vocal tips from the experience. The choral singers enhanced their understanding of harmonious blending and singers of the Rahel O Academy learned to make effortless transitions between vocal registers.

Heading south to Tamil Nadu, the Indian Choral Ensemble in
Chennai welcomed Deirdre’s expertise to help their members improve their technique and diction as well as skills in combining western and Indian Classical styles of singing without one style affecting the other. Back in Mumbai, singers at the Royal Opera House engaged in three hours of intensive learning. Deirdre shared her insights with the participants and helped students overcome their hidden fears and limitations.
