- What led you to signing up with Deirdre for the DCVT Program? At what stage were you in your singing career prior to joining it?
I had wanted to sign up for very long, since college actually. I had attended two of her workshops and finally took a brochure and saved it and took it everywhere I lived. Finally after a few years I mistered up the courage and made the call. At that time I was at a point where I had almost given up on my singing career, I was low on confidence and didn’t know if I could even sing anymore. - You have been singing early on. How has DCVT transformed your singing? Can you share your DCVT journey?
It really helped me with my confidence in singing in front of people and putting myself out there and being able to confidently even call myself a ‘singer’. It helped that it gave me regular practice. My range increased a lot and I could sing in ways I didn’t think id ever be able to. - What are your thoughts about Deirdre as a coach and what do you like about her coaching ?
Deirdre as a coach, very no nonsense but also kind of became almost a parent figure. We ended up talking a lot, about singing and also about life and she was always there to give me really good advice. I could be really honest and vulnerable with her. Also she has the loveliest dry sense of humour, which I absolutely love. - What are the key challenges you faced vocally before joining and how did the training make a difference technically?
Like i said earlier it improved my confidence, range and general skills in modulation, control and breath etc. - What has been the greatest impact on your singing?
The fact that I can confidently say – yes I’m a singer and i can sing in front of people now. I feel like it helps in many ways, not to mention the possibility of getting actual singing work by being able to showcase my talent without being shy and closed up in important rooms.
