My name is Sharon Jung and I’m 44-years-old.  I’m a wife, mother of 3 boys and pharmacist by trade.

  1. Tell us about your journey with Deirdre.  What made you decide to work with her?
I met Deirdre in Mumbai when I was living there.  A friend of mine was hosting her master class and I decided to go for fun.  I realized at the master class that Deirdre had a lot of wisdom to share and so I decided to start her Complete Vocal Transformation class.
  2. Musically, who are some of your biggest inspirations?  Why?
I love musical theater and was enamored by Julie Andrews growing up (we have the same birthday!).  I’m also a huge fan of Lea Salonga.  As an Asian-American, she was one of the few people that looked like me on stage when I was growing up and she’s just so talented.
  3. As a vocalist, what did you know about vocal technique before working with a vocal coach?
I did take voice lessons as a child so I know the importance of breathing and using the diaphragm, as well as opening the mouth.
  4. What are some of your biggest takeaways after working with Deirdre?  How has it changed your approach to singing?
I am more confident and expressive when I sing now.  Deirdre’s technique was eye opening for me.  It took all the things I learned as a child and then brought it up a notch.  My tone has gotten warmer, my range bigger and my expression has gotten better.
  5. When you look towards your musical future, what’s different?
I hesitate less when asked to sing.  I will take every opportunity to share my talent with the world.
  6. What’s one piece of advice you’d share with anyone considering working with Deirdre?
You will be in good hands with Deirdre.  She’s tough but understanding.  She will push you beyond your comfort zone but it’s necessary.  She will transform your voice!
